Data and Assessment for the Arts and Humanities
The meeting of hard data and discursive subjects is not always easy. Data is often misunderstood, misused and abused: not just by teachers, but by leadership, parents, and pupils themselves. Take away evidence-based and practical strategies from this course to create assessment regimes and use and manipulate data effectively and honestly in your classes.
A full-day masterclass for teachers of KS3, 4 and 5: for those who are a bit afraid of excel or want to square the circle of examination hoop-jumping and real intellectual curiosity!

Full-day online conference: £225.

Presenter: Stuart Thomson
Stuart has been Head of Department, chaplain, and Housemaster at leading UK independent schools. He has extensive experience of radically redesigning assessment regimes, and enjoys playing with excel formulae too much! Having come into teaching from academia, he is enthused by the broader scope of intellectual life beyond examination results; as someone involved deeply in pastoral care, he is also aware of the pressures that gathering data puts on pupils. Getting data and assessment right for pupils has never been so important.
